The business is registered at 413 Grant Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15209; use this page to check its hours, phone number and Google rating before you make the trip. Pizza places in the United States run from a counter with two stools and a stack of boxes to a full sit-down pizzeria with a bar, and most neighborhood shops do all three things at once: dine-in, takeout and delivery. Ordering by phone is still common and often faster than an app, and many independents charge less when you call direct because there is no platform fee. Sizes are usually listed in inches (a small around 10", a large 14", an extra-large 16" or more), and a large feeds two to three adults. Slices are sold from a display case at New York-style counters and reheated to order; whole pies take 15-25 minutes at a busy shop. Most spots take cards and mobile pay, though a few older pizzerias remain cash-only, so check the door or the listing before you order.

Hours are published for 2 days a week. Typical hours are 11 AM–9 PM. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (412) 822-7300. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is ironbornpizza.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.4 out of 5 from 715 reviews, which is a strong result for a pizza restaurant in Pittsburgh and suggests consistent service.

Pittsburgh is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Pittsburgh is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Iron Born Pizza was recommended to me by my neighbor (in Ohio) when they heard I was making a trip to the Pittsburgh area. We ended up going to the one in Milvale while checking out another place (Grist House). Halve the people in the bar had boxes for Iron Born Pizza! It was also highly rated by the bar tenders. We got a β€œSpicy” pizza that was ACTUALLY spicy! Thankfully we got a side of ranch and a canole to cool it down. Along with a few more drinks at Grist House;) 10/10 would definitely recommend.

This pizza is incredible. We had the Meat Pie and loved it, cooked to perfection, and the crust is just a little crunchy and is as delicious as all the toppings! Also, their house made chips are crunchy and have a wonderfully zesty seasoning, delicious with or without their house made onion dip! It was easy to order and pay online, and there’s a small comfortable waiting area if you arrive a few minutes early. We were warmly greeted as soon as we walked in the door and our order was ready exactly on time. I highly recommend Iron Born!!

The first installment of Slices of the β€˜Burgh (SOT’B) happens to be Iron Born Pizza in Millvale. I will preface this review by saying that it occurred during the Millvale music festival of which it was so busy that they eventually ran out of ingredients. So I will potentially rereview on a less hectic date on my quest to find the best slice-per-dollar of pizza in Pittsburgh. Immediately upon entering they do not serve pizza by the slice, which was a red flag. Luckily I had friends with me who were willing to shoulder the burden with me - shoutout to Alex and Will. I ordered the cheese pie and swapped a slice for a cubano pie. With the cheese as our baseline, the price was $3.39 adjusted after tax and socially mandated tip. As a square-style pizza with dimensions of 3” by 3.5” this came out to a price per area of 3.1 (in2/$). This is a strong showing but I will note that these were per-pie metrics so take them with a grain of salt. I admit that I am partial to a thinner sicilian style, but I did enjoy the crispiness and albeit doughier detroit style crust (8/10). But on the the cheese (4/10) and sauce (5/10) were let downs. The sauce was a bit sparse and the cheese was good mixtu
